My trip to Vladimir and Suzdal wasn't the best. Let's just say that it rained the whole time and it was cold. Vladimir and Suzdal happen to be the oldest cities in Russia. I went with my classmates by bus and we stayed in a beautiful hostel that we had to literally hike through a horse field to.
One of the monumental statues in the middle of the city.
We went to museums where we discovered stones older than Jesus!
They also had skeletons of whom they believed to be ancient Neanderthals.
What they pictured the first Homo sapiens to look like.
An ancient Neanderthal cloaked in animal skin and beads made from bones.
One of the many Cathedrals in the ancient city.
A typical Russian car :) Funny paint job though.
We hiked to a Cathedral and this is the view from the hill.
Another beautiful view from the hilltop.
There were cathedrals everywhere!
I was cold and my lungs hurt from the hike, but I still have a smile on my face.
The cathedral inside the Kremlin in Vladimir.
One of the towers of the Kremlin.
A statue on the river. I didn't get to take a closer look but it looks nice from afar.
A famous artist of Vladimir.
The beautiful domes of a cathedral in Suzdal.
The ceiling of one of the oldest cathedrals I went into.
Old murals on the wall of the cathedral.
It was amazing that it had been preserved for a very long time.
The cathedral I hiked to.
The girls bunks inside the hostel in Vladimir.
Everyone passing out on the beanbags after a long day of exploring.
The beautiful fireplace in the hostel.
Our group leader made us some tea.
I snuck into the boys room for a picture.
The wall art was really cool too.
more art...
They had a TV and computer for us to use too.
Even though my trip wasn't too pleasant because of the rain, I still had fun with my friends. We cooked in the big kitchen of the hostel and it was always a good time when we sat around a table and shared our stories.
